What we do
The Recovery Partnership conducts research and consultation with stakeholders across the drug and alcohol sector. We work with commissioners, practitioners, service managers and people with lived experience to explore what’s happening on the ground, share good practice, and support the delivery of recovery-focused services for those experiencing drug or alcohol-related harm.
ResearchPractical, sector-informed research that helps decision-makers understand demand, provision, outcomes and barriers to recovery. We focus on clear insights that can be used in commissioning, service design and improvement.

ConsultationStructured engagement with stakeholders—staff teams, partners and people with lived experience—to capture what’s working, what isn’t, and what needs to change. We prioritise safe, respectful participation and honest feedback.
|
Good practiceWe help teams share learning, strengthen recovery pathways and build consistent practice across local systems. Outputs are designed to be usable—clear recommendations, summaries and implementation-ready actions.

Who we work with
Our work is shaped by collaboration. We typically engage with commissioners and system leaders, drug and alcohol practitioners, service managers and partner organisations, and people with lived experience of treatment and recovery. This mix helps us test assumptions, triangulate evidence and keep recommendations grounded in reality.
How we work
We take a pragmatic approach: listen carefully, analyse the evidence, and translate findings into actions that fit local context. Where appropriate, we support teams to track progress over time and to learn what changes are making the biggest difference.
